Make an Impact in Houston
In August 2021, Frontline Response's National Expansion Officer, Jeff Shaw, was teaching a course at the Institute for Shelter Care. In attendance was a group of leaders from Elijah Rising, a long-term care program for survivors of trafficking in Houston. Jeff referenced that Frontline was entering a season of expanding its emergency safe home model for sex trafficking victims nationally, and Elijah Rising CEO Micah Gamboa asked, "How do we get an emergency safe home in Houston?"
That conversation launched two years of planning, praying, dreaming, and casting vision together. Elijah Rising provided Frontline with a home to use as the emergency safe home. Frontline set a goal of raising $800,000 to cover the first year of operating costs before opening the home. With the support of Elijah Rising, Hope Legacy Collective, and many others, $500,000 has been raised and there is currently a $150,000 matching grant opportunity that would get the fundraising across the finish line.
